Appears in the 1841, 1851, 1861 & 1871 Censuses as farm labourer resident in South Cadbury.  In 1871 William had three stepchildren living with them.

The 1901 Census lists an Edith Pitman, 21, working as a barmaid at 3 Arundel Street, Portsmouth

The 1901Census also shows a Henry Pitman, 47, living at 11 Nelson Square, Portsmouth and employed as a Police Constable.
